Frankenstein Brown Ale - Brewed 7/24/11

This batch is made up of all the extra leftover grains from my last several brews, along with a dash of Hallertau hops from my Oktoberfest Ale.

Ingredients
Steeping Grains

  • 11 oz Crystal 40l
  • 8 oz Crystal 80l
  • 8.5 oz Dark Munich
  • 6 oz Chocolate
  • 12 oz Victory

6.6 lbs Light Malt Extract
.5 oz Perle hops (60 min)
.25 oz Hallertau hops (60 min)
.5 oz Perle hops (15 min)
.15 oz Hallertau hops (15 min)
Whirlfloc Tablet (15 min)
Safale US-05 Dry Ale Yeast

OG: 1.06

Random sidenote: I added the steeping grains to my compost bin, and within 20 minutes the worms were going absolutely nuts. Apparently they like beer, too.
